Most people think a generator pad is just a flat slab. Pour it level, set the unit, done. But if you're running a diesel standby generator, that's only half the job. Fuel spills happen - and without containment, you're looking at a potential environmental liability and a mess that's expensive to clean up.
That's exactly why we built this one with containment walls around the entire perimeter. The pad itself is smooth, clean, and properly finished. The walls form a continuous curbed border that keeps any diesel where it belongs - inside the containment area - instead of soaking into the ground around it.
It's a detail a lot of contractors skip. Either they don't think about it, or they figure it's someone else's problem. We don't work that way. When we're doing site prep or concrete work, we're thinking about what happens after the pour - what the site needs to actually function safely for the long haul.
This kind of work sits right in our wheelhouse. Whether it's a generator pad, a precast concrete block retaining wall, or any other site prep that needs to be built to last - we approach every job with the same mindset. Do it right the first time so it doesn't come back to haunt anyone.
